Right now I am reading The Liveship Traders Trilogy by Robin Hobb. What an amazing story! The three books are Ship of Magic, The Mad Ship and Ship of Destiny. If you follow me on Goodreads, I am about 600 pages in to the second book, The Mad Ship. Typically, when I write reviews on books in a series I write one review for the entire series. I find when I break it up by book, my reviews are shorter because frankly, I just want to keep reading and finish the story. I will post a review on this trilogy as a whole. I love Robin Hobb and her writing. I read the Farseer Trilogy and loved it. I look forward to finishing this trilogy and reading the rest of Robin Hobb’s work.
While reading Hobb, I have also just recently read the first book in The Witcher series by Andrzej Sapkowski. The Witcher books have been pulling at me every time I saw them and finally, I just decided to pick up the series and read them. The first book, The Last Wish: Introducing the Witcher, was good. It took me awhile to accustom myself to Sapkowski’s style of writing which I think was partly because the books were translated to English. Review to come.
I set a goal in Goodreads to read 35 books in 2016. I changed that goal to 50 as I was nearing the 35 rapidly. The last 15 were challenging and I didn’t think I was going to make it. I just found I didn’t have a lot of time to read and most nights was too tired. So I picked up the pace and blew through the Narnia books and while only 200-300 pages, they were short and easy reads and allowed me to gain a few titles towards my goal. I did meet my goal and actually read 51 books. I still have a couple weeks left in the year! I will definitely finish The Mad Ship in the next week but likely I am not going to finish the third book before the end of the year. These are lengthy books.
Brent Weeks’ The Blood Mirror, the fourth book in the Lightbringer series is up next to read. Loved the first three and can’t wait to start this one.
Patiently waiting on the third book in the Kingkiller Chronicles and the third book in the Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson. Sanderson’s book I believe has a release date in early 2017. Rothfuss, not so much. Sigh…
Look me up on Goodreads if you want to follow my progress. Let me know in the comments below how many books you have on your TBR list. I think I have well over 1,500 on my list.
