Update on The Mad Ship

I finished book two, The Mad Ship!  At the end of that book, the last hundred or so pages, my eyes were moving a mile a minute…I couldn’t read fast enough.  What an amazing story.  I’m starting to feel the withdraw symptoms already heading into the third and FINAL book in the series.  I love the characters so much and I don’t want it to end.  Yes, the final book is 900+ pages but that seems so short right now.  I am truly hoping for a satisfying ending which I have no doubt Robin Hobb will deliver.  I’m so proud to have these books on my shelf.  Will the Liveship Traders trilogy move into second place below the Kingkiller Chronicles?  Hmmm…let’s see how the third book wraps up. The Stormlight Archives may move to third…

I am excited to say that I signed up on NetGalley and received my first to ARC’s.  I was denied more than I was approved for but that’s ok.  I’ll work my way there.  I received an ARC of the Gilded Cage by Vic James, book one in the Dark Gifts trilogy.  The book is due out in February of 2017.  The series is classified as Fantasy and Young Adult.  I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised with the book and I’m 75% through it.  It is definitely Young Adult.  Enjoyable though.  You know, sometimes you just need a Young Adult fantasy to read and refresh yourself from the longer epic fantasies I normally read.  I will be providing my review on NetGalley as well as here and on Goodreads.

I spent my weekend reading and painting.  I’m making my mother-in-law a painting for Christmas (she lost her son in an accident in 2007) so I worked on that most of the day Saturday and Sunday.  I’m not super thrilled with the letters (they were hard to do freehand).  I also picked up some Christmas tree crafts to do with my two daughters.  I attached a couple of pictures here of the outcomes.  I know it’s not related to reading but painting is another passion of mine that is up there with reading.  Enjoy!

Have a great day everyone and read more!
